I can’t tell you how excited I was when I met Leigha and Devin for the first time. Leigha was totally in love with the history of the Canadian Rockies – and the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in particular. When we began designing this wedding we connected with the hotel’s in-house historian, Dave Moberg, to look at old images, menus and print materials from the 1920’s to 1950’s to find our inspiration.
What resulted was a elegant, beautiful, personal and and seriously fun wedding. Some of my favourite details included Leigha’s GORGEOUS, elegant, vintage-inspired gown; the beautiful textured linens from La Tavola Linens in California; the gold foil stationery including a menu with a 1939 date stamp on it; the lace and ruffle cake which was inspired by Leigha’s dress (and created by Alannah Jensen), the tutu-inspired tulle cake table linen (Leigha used to be a dancer); the historic Bruno Engler coffee table book we used for guests to sign; the custom wooden cake toppers; the ceremony bagpiper; and the amazing party band the Dino Martini’s. Phew, that’s a lot of details!
I can’t thank Julie Williams Photography enough for capturing these beautiful images and sharing them with us!
